Course Description

The North to South trail drops 1200 feet gradually from about 7240 feet at the start in Palmer to 6010 feet in downtown Colorado Springs. It is a gently rolling course, with hard-packed trails and some asphalt. It is east of the Rampart Range and offers views of the majestic US Air Force Academy. The race ends at the America the Beautiful Park.

The high elevation of the course (all above 6000 feet) may adverse affect the finishing times of those not acclimated well to the elevation. Also, the course is mostly packed dirt with some sections of asphalt and concrete (77% unpaved, 7% concrete, 16% asphalt).
