The Bear Lake Utah Marathon is part of a three day series - one race each in Idaho, Utah, and Wyoming.
The Marathon course begins on the east side of the lake. There is little traffic on this side and extends for almost 16 miles. The last portion of the course will continue around Laketown, Rendezvous Beach and Ideal Beach Resort. At Ideal Beach Resort, runners enter the paved bike trail leading to the finish line at the Garden City Park.
The Bear Lake Utah Marathon was the 438th largest marathon in the U.S. last year and was the 287th largest in 2015.
This year 8.3% of finishers qualified for the Boston Marathon and 2.3% of runners qualified for Boston in 2016.
This gives the Bear Lake Utah Marathon the 465th highest percentage of Boston Marathon qualifiers in the U.S. last year and the 167th highest percentage so far in 2017.
