The Grand Island Marathon course follows the perimeter trail of the island counterclockwise up past Murray Bay and DuckLake. At three miles the course heads eastward into the Tombolo, up into the island's thumb and then back along Trout Bay. Runners then head up the eastern shore of the island.
The Grand Island Trail Marathon was the 412th largest marathon in the U.S. last year and was the 295th largest in 2015.
