Course Description

The Soldier Marathon begins at the National Infantry Museum in Columbus, Georgia at the Avenue of Flags. It travels for approximately 7.5 miles through Ft. Benning. The course then continues along the banks of the Chattahoochee River on the Riverwalk for an out-and-back section from Oxbow Meadows to Uptown Columbus.

The course then runs into Phenix City, Alabama via the 14th Street Pedestrian Bridge, and then returns over the Dillingham Bridge back into Columbus and runs south on the Riverwalk from the Trade Center back to the National Infantry Museum.

The Soldier Marathon was the 158th largest marathon in the U.S. last year and was the 144th largest in 2015.

Last year 7.7% of finishers qualified for the Boston Marathon and 2.9% of runners qualified for Boston in 2015.

This gives the Soldier Marathon the 302nd highest percentage of Boston Marathon qualifiers in the U.S. last year and the 434th highest percentage in 2015.


Its Course Score of 98.33 ranks it as the 274th fastest marathon course in the U.S. and the 6th fastest course in Georgia.
