Course Description

The Thunder Bay Miles with the Giant Marathon course blends points of interest within the City of Thunder Bay with the natural beauty of Lake Superior. The course combines urban, park, and residential settings into a unique experience for the race participants along with many opportunities for spectators to see their favorite athletes.

Runners will enjoy the best that Thunder Bay has to offer in both the South and North of the city. The route goes south first, through the Lakehead University and Confederation College campuses to Chapples Park/Golf Course before turning North on Balmoral Street and then retraces back through the campuses before joining half marathon on the north section of the course.

The north course section around Boulevard Lake Park and Centennial Park includes tranquil forested areas, beautiful lake views, and terrain to challenge all levels of participants.
