This event is for strong, brave and highly energized people! It’s fun, challenging and absolutely beautiful! The hills are no small fete! The event is well organized and reasonably priced. You will never forget your experience!
Race Tips
Take it slow at the beginning on the first 2.5 mile hill!
Challenging course in a warm time of year in Pa. Jacket was nice medal and plaque ok. Pretty area and course half paved and half gravel surface. But most people were already running course when I showed up at 7am for 8am race time. Very disappointing for a competitive runner not to run with the competition when website said runners can start early if they need extra time. I didn't get the memo.
It's now called "Conquer the Canyon Marathon." Run though Colton Point State Park. Beautiful but very challenging hilly course run on asphalt and gravel roads. Two out and back loops. It's not a PR course. Most would choose to run this race to appreciate and experience the natural beauty of the area.
It's a reasonably priced "no thrills" marathon.
Race Tips
The course is primarily either uphill or downhill. Very few flat sections. The race provides hydration stations (water/Gatorade) about every two miles, and water bottles at other sections along the course.
It's about a half mile walk from the parking area to the race start. The race offered an early state, which was helpful because it can get hot in July.

This was a challenging, but beautiful course. I was expecting it to be hilly, but didn't realize just how hilly. Very nice shirts & medals.
Race Tips
It's pretty remote, so definitely recommend bringing your own water on course. I only saw 1 port-a-potty on the course.
