Frankfurt Marathon

The Frankfurt Marathon is renowned for one of the flattest and fastest courses in Europe, making it a favorite for runners seeking a PR, BQ or a picturesque European marathon. The single loop course begins at the Friedrich-Ebert-Anlage, near the Frankfurt Messe grounds, with the city's skyline providing a spectacular backdrop for the start. The route quickly immerses runners in the city's vibrant urban life, guiding them through the commercial center, past historic landmarks like the Old Opera House and St. Paul's Church, and across the Main River into the Sachsenhausen district on the south bank. With an elevation difference of only about 100 feet (30 meters), the course can be fast and scenic.

The second half of the race takes participants westward through quieter residential and industrial areas, before looping back along the scenic northern bank of the Main River. These long, flat stretches along the waterfront offer picturesque views of the city's skyline and bridges, before the course turns back into the central districts for the final miles.

The finish is a spectacular and unique experience where runners enter the historic Festhalle, a glass-domed, indoor arena, and cross the finish line on the red carpet amidst music, lights, and roaring spectators.
