Course Description
The Vienna City Marathon boasts a largely flat and fast course that offers runners an incredible sightseeing tour through Austria's capital. The race begins near the modern Vienna International Centre (UNO City), then crosses the historic Danube River via the Reichsbrücke. Runners are quickly immersed in the city's highlights, passing through the green expanses of the Prater park, including the famous Prater Hauptallee where a portion of Eliud Kipchoge's sub-two-hour marathon attempt took place.

The route continues through the heart of Vienna, guiding participants past magnificent imperial and cultural landmarks. Runners traverse the Ringstrasse, offering views of the Vienna State Opera, the Parliament, and the Burgtheater, and head out to the Baroque splendor of Schönbrunn Palace before turning back toward the center. The finish line provides a triumphant end in the historical city center on the Ringstrasse, often near the Burgtheater or Heldenplatz, allowing participants to experience Vienna's rich history and vibrant atmosphere throughout the 42.195 kilometers.
